Contests

Contests can be fun especially if you win, lol! Have you entered any recently?

Kendra recently won 4 tickets to a Premier Showing of "The Back Up Plan" starring Jennifer Lopez and Alex O'Loughlin so off they go with a couple of their friends on Thursday the 22nd of this month (April, 2010) and Princess Rebekah and I get to hang out together while they are away. (Maybe we can watch Ellen again, lol) Got to love contests!!!!!!!

Today is a beautiful day on my Island in the Pacific. I should be out doing some yard work but I have a really good excuse not to be doing that. Kendra, my youngest daughter, came by to borrow my truck, wheelbarrow, shovel, etc. etc. My nephew Brent, who has recently moved here from Cranbrook is going to help her move all her landscape rocks from her backyard to my home. She is going to plant grass so her little one can play outside. Those rocks are just too sharp for her little toes besides which she is at that age where everything goes into the mouth!

I guess it is about time that I got back to posting on here. My apologies for it taking me so long.

A lot has happened since I last posted but most importantly would be the arrival of my grand-daughters. Kadynce was born April 17, 2007 and Rebekah on November 21st, 2008.

The picture on the left is one of Kadynce and her daddy (my son) Norman at the swimming pool where she had her birthday party last year and the one on the right is Princess Rebekah at her first birthday party.
More news coming soon.
Love,
Sharon

Making a list and checking it twice

Well, here it is .... Christmas Day is tomorrow -- unbelievable how fast the time goes isn't it.

I have a last minute food shopping list that I am heading out the door to get and they I will hurry back home to peel, slice and chop. This is one part of the holiday season that I really enjoy. Making up the food platters -- all the lovely colours and smells.

I might buy a turkey .... I was feeling sorry for myself as it will only be the girls and I here for Christmas Dinner but when I think about it at least I have my girls with me tomorrow and I think I should go full steam ahead and make up the turkey and all the trimmings feast.

I will stop at Tim Hortons on my way to Safeway for my English Toffee Coffee and ponder some more about this.

My mum just called and said she loved me .... that is nice and I had a quick chat with Daphne from Argentina on MSN moments ago so life is pretty good.

From my home to yours ...... a very Merry Christmas!

On The Road Again

Kendra and I left home early (about 7 am) on our Santa run to my mum's in Victoria. Snow on the Malahat but other than that the trip there and back was without incident. Traffic was surprisingly light being as how Christmas is only two days away. My younger brother, Leyton, met up with us at mum's for lunch and delicious it was too .... ham and scalloped potatoes, sliced tomatoes and chicken drumettes. The weather was not so bad, sunny mostly but every so often some heavy clouds would roll in so we left early for home just in case. Arrived back safe and sound at around 2:30 pm.

Next year I must remember to do this no later than December 15th.

Kendra wore one of her Grad attire that she just got from Cedar Community Secondary School the day before -- nice cozy and comfortable Cedar Grad 2006 sweats and zippered hoody!

Saw a nice picture of my great niece, Miranda in a card that my niece Tammy had given mum. I must make an effort to visit them in 2007!
